This course examines consumption and production at the household, firm, and industry level; explains methods of economics analysis and price formulation; and examines the various market structures and behavior of pure competition, monopoly, oligopoly, and monopolistic consumption. Additional course material explains the characteristics and operations of the national economy, including the measurement of national employment, production and income, the role of money and banking, and international trade. Students also learn methods of economic analysis, the role of government, and economic policy.
