This course is an introduction to the political, social, and religious background and setting of the New Testament; the Gospels as witness to Jesus Christ; and the development of Christianity in the first century.

This course will seek to discuss and explain the role of a Christian nurse. This course will define nursing for today based on a historically and theologically grounded understanding of the “nurse’s call.” A focus on the ministry of compassionate care with a holistic perspective. This course will engage the student with nursing ethics, ethical reasoning and actions, promoting advocacy, and social justice in the context of a Christian worldview.
Prerequisite: Declared Geneva College Nursing Major, completed CCBC nursing program. Offered Fall semester.
